You have to keep in mind what you want to achieve for your blog..If you are wanting a user friendly website full of good info that makes visiting your site a good experience for the user…then link out with great links that provide good value.
However, if the aim of yur blog is to get to number one on google through SEO and great backlinks, remember that every link out of your blog leaks SEO juice.
In my experience, especially using wordpress blogs, the best thing to do is provide a good experience for my readers by providing great content with relevant info and links out.
Latent semantics in the search engine algorithms seem to repay that far better than links from high Pr blogs.
